Introducing an internal project of ours, the Planet + People Project.

Since we begun in the early parts 2015, we have promoted the importance of nurturing our planet and supporting its people. After-all, our tagline is do the right thing. We created this project as a place for you to find out about the positive changes we are making in and outside of our brand. But, we wanted to take it a step further, by also letting you know of the things we aren't doing quite as well as we'd like to - but are working hard to change. Greenwashing is a major issue in the fashion industry, where brands purposely highlight the good things they do, while neglecting the not-so-good. We don't do that.

Basically, we want to increase the transparency of our brand - good and bad.

Here, you can track our progress as we strive to create positive change within our brand and around the world. This page will continue to evolve and develop - so be sure to check back every now and then.

As a small, independently ran business, we may lack the resources that the big corporations have, but we have a hell-of-a-lot of drive and passion when it comes to change. Every decision we make in our business has the planet and people at the forefront.

Some positive changes we have already implemented.

  • We ensure all the products we design and create are to the highest quality. Each piece is designed to not only be timeless in design, but also stand the test of time.
  • We have partnered with and donated to a range of charities and not-for-profit organisations. Some of these include, Lifeline, the Australian Marine Conservation Society, Greening Australia, WIRES and more. We are always looking to support charities and not-for-profits in any way we can - we like to put our money where our mouth is.
  • We have removed all plastic from our product and postage packaging. Opting for other, environmentally friendly materials such as bioplastics and cardboard. Even our 'Cheers Cards' are made from recycled t-shirts, pretty neat hey.
  • All products that could only be packaged in plastic have been discontinued.
  • We have offset 100% of our electricity usage to have zero net-emissions for our HQ/warehouse in Newcastle - powered by certified renewable energy through the government accredited GreenPower program.
  • All orders (domestic + international) are sent with carbon-neutral shipping through a partnership with Pachama.
  • We work closely with a local sustainability and ethics consultant here in Newcastle called Corethics. Working with Corethics as a direct consultant gives us the reassurance in the decisions and moves we undertake as a brand on this journey.
  • We work with small, independent manufacturers across the globe who share the same values as our own and have demonstrated commitment to creating positive change in the fashion industry.
  • We have begun to source more sustainable fibres with our manufacturers, such as organic and recycled cotton. You will begin to see these materials roll out throughout our range.
  • We work with a number of high schools across NSW to inspire and educate students about the opportunities in entrepreneurship in Australia.

Some areas of our business we are working to improve.

  • Create, monitor and continually adjust a thorough set of standards and guidelines for all of our manufacturers. Designed to assist them with their own progress with respect to sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry, including their own technology and infrastructure. Estimated completion: before 2023.
  • We want to create an internal initiative that collects customers unwanted clothing and textiles, where they are then reused or recycled, ultimately preventing them from going into landfill. Estimated completion: before 2025.
  • To source and create innovative and sustainable materials for our products - working closely with all of our manufacturers. Additionally, we want to comprehensively map our supply chain beyond the point it is today. We use a range of materials from a range of suppliers, with some base knowledge on the journey of those materials. However, we want to understand where all of our materials and textiles begin and the journey they take to get into hands. Estimated completion: Ongoing.
